Salvatore ‘Sam’ Canale, 74, at rest July 24, 2023. Longtime owner with his wife of Pete’s Pizza #2 in Portage Park. He had ‘pizza sauce running through his veins.’ Beloved husband of Catherine ‘Cathy’ for 45 wonderful years. Dear son of the late Carlo and Maria Canale. Loving father of Christina ‘Christy’ (Edgar) Espinoza. Loving Gramp Gramps of Brandon, Aubrey. Dear brother of Tom Canale, Joe (the late Loretta) Canale, Vito (Cindy) Canale, Christina (Tom) Fergus. Fond uncle of Amy, Carlo, Thomas. Preceded in death by two infant children. Sam will be remembered for his great smile, his ability to deliver a punchline, his competitive spirit, as well as the enjoyment he received spending time with family, listening to music, dancing to a good beat, belting out a tune, and watching a movie. He is loved by many and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 1, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W Lawrence Ave, Norridge. Visitation will also be held Wednesday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 928 W Everett Rd, Lake Forest.
