Obituary for Ronald A Wade

Ronald A Wade died on February 15, 2023 after a short illness. He leaves behind his beloved wife Dorothy, daughter Karen Wade, son Kevin (Kim) and grandchildren Claire and Grant Frigo, his sister-in-law Terry Piorecki, brother-in-law Ray Piorecki (Kathy). He was Uncle to Kristi Scott and Katie Bartlett.
Ron was born on November 27, 1934 to Al and Mary (Klugiewicz) Wade. He met Dorothy while he was in college and they were married in 1958. They enjoyed spending time with their children and grandchildren. There are many fond memories of summer weekends spent at Cedar Lake with extended family. They would have celebrated their 65th anniversary in August.
Ron put family first, providing a loving and warm home. He was the rock of the family, always sacrificing and there for all of us. His patience, kindness and encouragement were exceptional. Ron could repair anything and had an incredibly organized workshop.
Ron was a sports enthusiast. His favorite athlete was his son watching him play baseball games while in junior high and high school. He also loved to watch his grandchildren play soccer and other sports. His favorite teams were the White Sox and Blackhawks and he was also into IndyCar racing.
Ron was a 1957 graduate of the University of Illinois in Mechanical Engineering where he was a Bronze Tablet Scholar. He was awarded a Masters of Science and Management Degree from Lake Forest College. He started working for International Harvester as a R&D designer of Construction Equipment in 1957. After various mergers and acquisitions he retired from Komatsu after 40 years as a Chief Engineer. Ron proudly served in the Air Force Reserve after he graduated from college.
Visitation will take place on Monday, February 20, 2023 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave. Norridge, Il. Funeral Tuesday, beginning at the funeral home at 9:30 am and then proceed to Queen of Peace Parish (St. Eugene Church) for 10:30 am Mass. Interment will follow at Maryhill Cemetery in Niles.
