Robert T. DeCherrie “Bobby D”, age 89, U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2024.  Bob was the longtime companion of Anne Fantozzi, and loving husband of the late Patricia Jean; loving father of Michele (Eric) Eichhorn, Kevin DeCherrie (Marie Gross) and the late David Scott DeCherrie; dear son of the late Helen and Theodore; cherished grandfather of Maxwell Eichhorn (Grace Coler) and Griffen Eichhorn; dearest brother of Joan, Clifford (Marlene) and Russell DeCherrie and fond uncle of Steve, Scott and Nicole.

   Bob was a lifelong ballplayer including handball and 16" softball among other sports. He was recently inducted into the Chicago 16 inch Hall of Fame when he was honored for playing 16" softball in 8 decades.

   Visitation Sunday, February 4, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. Funeral services begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home, and then proceed to St. Priscilla Church for Mass at 10:30 a.m. The interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in River Grove.
