Obituary for Rita Assunta Bertacchi
Rita A. Bertacchi, nee Busillo, age 70, passed away at her home in Chicago on February 11, 2024. She was born to the late Arturo and Anna (nee Bruno) Busillo in Altavilla (Salerno), Italy.
Rita was the beloved wife of Piergiorgio "Piero" Bertacchi for 48 wonderful years; loving mother of Ilaria "Yaya" (Andrew) Scarimbolo, Claudia V. Bertacchi "Koko" and Andrea "Andy" (Marie) Bertacchi; cherished grandmother of Frank Scarimbolo, Gianni Bertacchi and Chloe Scarimbolo and her fur grandkids Cuddles, Bella and Rex; dearest sister of Maria L. Busillo, the late Elia Neri and the late Carla (Dean) Stone, dearest sister-in-law of Miranda (the late Ivano) Benedetti and Rosanna (the late Piero) Giannelli, and she was a fond aunt, niece, cousin and friend of many.
Rita had a giant heart of gold who truly loved everyone, and will be remembered for her incredible generosity and selflessness.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to your local Catholic Church for a mass to be said for the repose of the soul of Rita A. Bertacchi.
Funeral Friday, February 16, 2024, friends and family are meeting at the Shrine of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel 1101 23rd Ave., Melrose Park, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of bilingual Italian/English mass at 11:00 a.m. The inurnment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in River Grove immediately after.
