Obituary for Michael Carmen Pesola

Michael Carmen Pesola
May 27, 1965 - November 21, 2022
Des Plaines IL
Our beloved Michael, left us November 21st at the age of 57.
Unafraid, he returned home to the Lord.

Michael Carmen Pesola cherished his loving marriage of over 18 years to Elena
Pesola. He was a loving step-father for his 2 step-children: Marijus Gricius, Ieva Griciute; Son of Jeanne Marie Pesola (née: Flashing) (predeceased in 2021), Carmen M. Pesola (predeceased in 2014); Sisters Marie Pesola, Marnie Ungeran (née: Pesola); Uncle to Jacob Ungeran and Matthew Ungeran; great grandson Jokubas Gricius.
Can’t forget his most loved Dobermans… Paris, Princess, Gigi and Jazzy.

Mike grew up in Park Ridge IL. where he graduated from Maine South High School. Always on the run around the neighborhood but could usually be found with the boys playing wiffle ball on the neighborhood streets or listening to music in the Skiersch’s basement. He went on to graduate from Western Michigan University and worked many years in food distribution management at Jewel. Loved by his many customers and colleagues throughout the years.

Mike had many nick names… we will leave it at that. HA! He was a very generous soul. He loved family, friends, his dogs, poker and telling everyone what to do. Ha Ha! He loved frequent visits to our parents’ home in Palm Desert California… who doesn’t love swimming at LaLa Land. Mike also loved a great BBQ get together and as many trips to Mexico and Vegas as possible. Overall, his friends and family were the MOST important to him. He was always the planner… trying to get everyone together telling stories of days past with laughter in abundance. Oh the sweet memories.

Most recently he embarked on a trip he had been wanting to do for years. He and Elena along with Paris, Princess, Gigi and Jazzy got in the RV and traveled the country for a year visiting Florida, New Mexico, Texas and California to name a few.

He enjoyed life the best he could, and you can definitely say he did it his way!

He will be very missed!!

I AM FREE
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free,
I'm following paths God made for me
I took his hand I heard him call
Then turned, and bid farewell to all

I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to sing, to play
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found my peace... at close of play

And if my parting left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Ah yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened... deep with sorrow
I wish you sunshine of tomorrow
My life's been full I've savoured much
Good friends, good times
A loved one's touch

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don't lengthen it now with grief
Lift up your hearts and share with me,
God wants me now... He set me free.
