Mary R. Mellett, nee Savage, age 72, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2021. Mary was the beloved wife of the late James M. "Jim" Mellett C.P.D.; loving mother of Sheila M. (Thomas) Mruk, Michael J. and Charlie P. (Jennifer) Mellett River Grove P.D.; dearest daughter of the late Anna, nee O'Brien, and the late Charles Savage; cherished grandmother of Sean Mellett River Grove P.D., ,Hannah Mruk, Natalia Mellett, Isabella Mruk, Delaney, Piper and Finn Mellett; dear sister of the late Robert (Bernadine) Savage, the late Joanne (the late Robert) Lee, the late Carol (James) Ferrone and the late Geraldine (John) Wedekind, and she was a loving aunt and cousin of many. Mary was a devout catholic and a parishioner of both St. Francis Borgia and St. Cyprian Parishes. Visitation Tuesday, May 4, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. Funeral services begin at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, at the funeral home, and will then proceed to St. Cyprian Church in River Grove for Mass at 11:30 a.m. The interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, IL. Due to the current health guidelines, we are limited to 50 attendees at a time. We kindly ask that you quickly exit the funeral home after paying your respects to the family so that all visitors have an opportunity to enter.
