Obituary for Marie Majka
Marie Majka, nee Monachello, age 89, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2023. Marie was the beloved wife of the late Frank Naselli and the late Eddie Majka; loving mother of Michael (Mary) Naselli, Cathy (Jim) Van Cura, Karen Naselli (Jeannette) and Billy Naselli; dearest daughter of the late Phyllis and Peter Monachello; cherished grandmother of Jim (Ginny) Van Cura, Danielle (Michael) Lowy, Michael Alan Naselli and Nicholas Naselli; great grandmother of Cullen and Henry; dear sister of the late Anthony (the late Joan) Monachello and the late Salvatore (Phyllis) Monachello; fond aunt of many.
Marie had an infectious personality and quickly became loved by everyone she met. She was adored by her children, grandchildren (fondly known as Gumby) and great grandchildren.
Marie was passionate about the Salvation Army and spent many years of dedicated service volunteering in support of its mission. She positively impacted and helped countless families along her tireless journey and made many friends along the way who became more like family. She is sorely missed by all of her fellow salvationists.
Family and friends will be received at the Salvation Army Citadel, 8354 W Foster Ave., Norridge, IL 60706, Saturday, October 21, 2023 - 9:30 a.m. until time of memorial service at 11:30 a.m. All in attendance are invited to join together for a luncheon at the church immediately following the memorial service.
