Judith Menzel nee Weldon, age 79, of Elmwood Park, passed away peacefully August 30, 2023. Judi had a long career at AT&T, which eventually led to meeting the love of her life, Albert “Zeke” Zilske. Judi was a sports lover and enjoyed watching the Bears, Cubbies and Blackhawks whenever she could. Judi was an animal lover and had many beloved dogs throughout her life. Her hobbies included playing cards, gardening, card making, and shopping. Judi was loved by all who met her and heard her infectious laugh. She fully enjoyed life but most of all treasured her family. She loved spending time with her daughter, grandkids and family.  Judi was the beloved mother of Dawn (Dan) Schenone nee Menzel; treasured daughter of the late Albert and Florence Weldon; loving grandmother of Zach Thull and Bella (Mark) Struck; dear sister of the late Jerry (Val) Weldon, the late Bill (Ann) Weldon, Tom Weldon, Mary Kay (Joe) Giacalone nee Weldon and Tim (Ro) Weldon; fond aunt to many nieces and nephews. Beloved friend to many. Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Cumberland Chapels from 12:00 noon until time of service at 2:45 pm, the family will be honoring Judi with a cello tribute performed by her grandson Zach and then followed by a eulogy and final prayer.
