John Michael Bauer, 85, died Tuesday, August 23, 2022. He was a longtime resident of Glenview, IL.
He was a leader in the computer and business world since graduating from Northwestern’s School of Business in Evanston, IL, and spending time in Army Intelligence. He held various positions in computer and manufacturing management for major U.S. corporations. At the time of his death, he was President of Agilest Business Solutions, Ltd. and co-author of a book on software development entitled “Adaptive Agile Scaling.”
Married twice, he had two daughters with his first wife Martha: Cathy (Peter) Davis of Coconut Grove, FL, and Susanne Richter of Lake Bluff, IL. John also had two grandchildren, Catherine and Christopher Davis. His second wife of many years was Gunilla Walstad of Evanston, IL. For the past 32 years, John had done extensive, world-wide traveling with his dearest companion, Vivien Marbach of Mt. Prospect, IL. He is survived by his two daughters and grandchildren and his brother George of Grand Rapids, MI.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 30, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave, Norridge. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Acacia Park Cemetery, 7800 W.
