Shortly after graduating, on September 10, 2018, Sergeant Kuprianczyk attended Boot Camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, graduating on December 7, 2018, as a Private First Class. Private First Class Kuprianczyk then reported to Marine Combat Training (West) aboard Camp Pendleton, California, graduating in early January of 2019.

Upon graduation from MCT, Private First Class Kuprianczyk reported to Marine Corps Communication-Electronics School for training as a telephone systems/personal computer repairer. While at the schoolhouse, he was promoted to Lance Corporal. Upon graduating with the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 2847 in November of 2019, Lance Corporal Kuprianczyk reported for duty with Marine Wing Communications Squadron 38 (MWCS- 38) aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego, California with the Voice and Data Repair (VADR) Section. During his time with MWCS-38 he attended Weapons Tactics Instructor Course (WTI), Additive Manufacturing Basic and Intermediate Courses, Innovation Bootcamp, and Microminiature Repair Course.

Immediately upon arriving to Ground Electronics Maintenance (GEM) Platoon, Lance Corporal Kuprianczyk stood out above peers in numerous ways. He was a tenacious Marine who was never content to sit idly by. He sought out duties and responsibilities above his paygrade. Due to his skill in fiber optic repair, he became known as the ‘fiber god’ of VADR. When a position in the Microminiature Repair/Additive Maintenance Section (2MAM) opened, Lance Corporal Kuprianczyk was the obvious choice due to his initiative and work ethic. He was promoted to Corporal in April of 2021. Corporal Kuprianczyk attended Basic and Intermediate Additive Manufacturing Courses, learning the functions of mechanical engineering through computer aided design and 3D printing. He was also selected to attend Microminiature Repair Course in Twentynine Palms, a four-month long course teaching the ability to solder components smaller than a grain of rice. Corporal Kuprianczyk graduated first in his class, earning the additional MOS of 8641. Corporal Kuprianczyk put his skills to use during WTI in Yuma, Arizona, a two-month long field operation. While in WTI, Corporal Kuprianczyk assisted wherever he could. Making numerous field repairs, leading to minimal equipment downtimes and large cost savings. In his downtime, he taught classes to junior Marines about any topic from 3D Printing, leadership, and warfighting, to sharing his MOS knowledge on soldering and general equipment repair. When Corporal Kuprianczyk returned to Miramar, he constantly filled in as leadership for his section. He actively sought the Section Chief position and was recognized as Maintenance NCO of the Quarter. In one week, he and his close friend and roommate, Corporal Binggeli, worked 80 hours to produce 10 circuit board test routines, a herculean accomplishment. Corporal Kuprianczyk constantly set the example for Marines to emulate in the platoon. He achieved a first class PFT and CFT, was an expert on the rifle range and achieved a brown belt in the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program, the highest belt achievable for his rank. Upon diagnosis of his cancer, the first request he made to the chain of command was a laptop to complete more professional military education to stay competitive for promotion. His dedication paid off, and he was promoted to Sergeant in October of 2022.

Sergeant Kuprianczyk’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
