George Salapatas, age 86, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2023. George was the youngest son of the late Panagiota, nee Kitziri, and the late Stavros Salapatas. George leaves behind a wife, Elaine Salapatas, nee Likis, and four living children: George Jr. (Michele), the late Mary (who sadly passed at 6 months old), Michael (Judy), Christopher, and Anastasia (Gary), all of whom he adored. He was also the proud grandfather of Kali and Jadyn Salapatas (George Jr.) and many furry grandchildren. George immigrated from Greece in 1952 and worked as an electrical engineer until his retirement. George loved nothing more than spending time with his loved ones. His sense of humor and generosity were unmatched. When he wasn’t making people laugh (or at least trying to), he was using his self-taught expertise in handy-work to fix things around the house for his family, friends, and neighbors. He will be dearly missed by family and friends, near and far. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society at donate.cancer.org.  Visitation will be Saturday, September 23, from 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 11:30 a.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W Lawrence Ave, Norridge.  Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
