Obituary for Father Daniel Robert Fallon

Father Daniel R. Fallon, age 74, former Pastor of St. Cornelius and Our Lady, Mother of the Church Parishes on Chicago's Northwest side, former associate Pastor at St. William and St. Pascal, also in Chicago, as well as St. Isaac Jogues in Niles, passed away on March 9, 2024, following a prolonged battle with cancer. 

 

Father Dan was the dear son of the late Esther, nee Pecoraro, and the late Robert Fallon; dearest brother of Kathleen (the late Kenneth) Groh, Bobbie (Ed) Stapleton and Thomas (Donna) Fallon; loving uncle of Alex Groh, Amy (Joe) Chovan, Patrick (Shana) Stapleton, Brenna (David) Hosie, Julie (Noah) Dee, Brian (Lauren) Fallon, Sarah (Ben) Murray, Kyle (Lainey) Fallon and many great nieces and nephews. 




Having entered seminary life right out of elementary school, Father Dan was educated at Quigley North High School, Niles College and St. Mary of the Lake Seminary with ordination in May 1976.  From ordination he began his pastor life at his first assignment of St. Pascal, during which time he completed his Masters of Divinity at De Paul University. 



In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society at cancer.org or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and stjude.org would be appreciated.

 

Visitation will be on Friday March 15 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Our Lady, Mother of the Church 8747 W. Lawrence Ave., Chicago. Funeral will be Saturday March 16 lying in State from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral Mass at 11:00. Interment will follow at Maryhill Cemetery in Niles. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cumberland Chapels for more information call (708)456-8300.
