Obituary for Elena Ciaccia (Carla’)
Elena Carla’ Ciaccia, 92, of Carmel, Indiana passed away on January 9, 2023 from cancer. She was born in Palese, Italy and lived in Norridge, Illinois for 40 years.
She was predeceased by her father, Giuseppe Carla’, mother, Antonia Carrozzo, her sisters Annetta and Giannina, her brothers Salvatore, Aldo, Umberto, Carmelo, Antonio, Nicola, and her beloved husband Peter. She is survived by her brother Michele, sister Rachele, son Donato (Julie), grandsons Peter and Luca, and granddaughter Simona.
Elena lived a warm, joy filled life. Her nickname “Luccia” means light as she was known to light up a room with her smile and laugh. She was an exceptional cook and her passion was sharing a meal with family and friends. She referred to herself as “a friend to all”. She will be deeply missed.

The funeral services begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, January 16, at the funeral home, and then proceed to St. Eugene Catholic Church in Chicago for Mass at 10:30 a.m.
The entombment will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Mausoleum within All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL.
