Obituary for Edward A. Bartosch

Edward A. Bartosch, age 94. Devoted husband of Lorraine, nee Goorsky, nee Bysiek, and the late Florence, nee Moro. Beloved father of Nancy Bartosch, Michael (Susan) Bartosch, Joseph (Jamie) Bartosch, Robert Bartosch and Susan (Richard) Haas and stepfather of William (Jackie) Goorsky, Bruce (Char) Goorsky, Karen (David) Hand, Mark (Maggie) Goorsky and Glenn (Sue) Goorsky. Loving grandfather of Kara (Nathan) Retta, Andrew (Sydney Crain) Bartosch, Marissa (Travis) Chapman, Annie and J.J. Bartosch. Stepgrandfather and Great-grandfather to 46. Brother of the late Geraldine Hermann and brother-in-law of Ann (the late Louis) Moro; fond uncle to Kathy, Lynn, Karl and Janet. Visitation Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL 60706. Funeral Friday, 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home, and will proceed to St. John Brebeuf Church in Niles, IL for Mass at 12:00 Noon. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery. Edward is a U.S. Air Force Veteran. Edward graduated from St. Stanislaus Elementary and Foreman H.S. Where he played baseball and basketball. He attended DePaul University where he was a member of the basketball team. A graduate of John Marshall Law School he practiced as an attorney well into his 70’s. He enjoyed playing and watching sports, especially Notre Dame football. He played tennis and fished for many years and golfed until he was almost 90. He loved to read, keep up on current events, and traveled all over the world. He took flying lessons and flew a small plane when he was 75. Loved to attend grandchildren’s sports and always knew what everyone was up to in a family with 51 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Edward was a past member of Norridge Park District Board, the Ridgewood High School Board of Education, he was a founding member of the Eisenhower Public Library and a member of the Norridge Post of American Legion For info 708-456-8300 or www.cumberlandchapels.com.
