Obituary for Domenico Ruccia

Domenico Ruccia, 87 years old, passed away in his home on April 26th, 2021 surrounded by his family.
Domenico is survived by his children, Lucy (Vinnie) Barone, Angelo (Julie) Ruccia, and Vince (Erica) Ruccia, as well as his grandchildren, Ashley Ruccia, Vincent Barone, Amber Ruccia, Christina Barone, Gianna Ruccia, Jeffrey Galvan, and Rocco Ruccia. Domenico is the dear brother of Anna Sblendorio, Maria Valerio, Lina Testa, the late Nicola and the late Giuseppe Ruccia.

Born in 1934 in Modugno, Italy, Domenico spent his childhood on his family’s farm. He immigrated to America in 1964 to be with the love of his life- his late wife of over 50 years, Rosa nee Bellino. They settled in the suburbs of Chicago and went on to have 3 children and many grandchildren.
Domenico was the patriarch of the Ruccia family. He dedicated his life to his family, working as hard as possible to ensure his children had every opportunity possible.

A man of many names, Domenico was lovingly referred to as “cute boy”, “cumpari”, “minguccio” and “Nonno.” He loved his family, his Italian culture, his vino, his friends, and his late wife Rosa. He will be dearly missed.
