Obituary for Colin Thomas Myron

Colin Thomas Myron, 44, of Chicago, passed away suddenly and peacefully in his residence on October 22, 2023, from cardio vascular disease.

Colin was born on March 15, 1979 to Thomas and Melanie Myron in Highland      Park, IL.

Colin was an adventurous and curious child, sneaking out the front door of the family home at the age of 2 and assembling his first computer at the age of 9.

He had a lifetime love of sports, including golf, football, baseball, and hockey.

Attending high school at Loyola Academy he played goalie on the school hockey team.  He was known as a tough, but fair competitor and a good teammate.

He loved attending Blackhawks, Bears and Cubs games with his friends and cheering on each team through good times and bad.

After graduating from Loyola Academy he continued his studies at Marquette University and George Washington University.  While at George Washington University he served as an intern at The House of Representatives.

Colin went on to become a phone clerk at Rosenthal & Co. at The Chicago Board of Trade.  There he learned the complexities of trading and developed the skills necessary to be successful.  He then clerked for his father at The Board of Trade.  He would later break out on his own to begin trading his own positions.

Colin was passionate about helping others, particularly military veterans.  Colin was very proud of his father’s service in Vietnam.   Colin served an important volunteer role with Honor Flight Chicago. Honor Flight Chicago was founded in 2008 to recognize America’s senior war veterans by flying them to Washington, D.C. to tour the memorials built in their honor. Colin would regularly volunteer to assist the veterans on their trips to D.C..

He was a voracious reader and enjoyed the many Italian restaurants in Chicago.

He is survived by his father, Thomas Myron, and his mother Melanie Myron, as well as many, many family and friends who loved him and will miss him greatly.

Rest in peace, we all love you, Colin.
