Obituary for Charles M. "Chuck" Carlson

Charles M. "Chuck" Carlson, age 75, U.S. Air Force Veteran, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving family. Chuck was born on May 20, 1947 to Mary, nee Campbell, and Charles J. Carlson, they preceded him in death.

In addition to being a Veteran of the Air Force, Chuck had a forty year career with Defense Contract Management.

On July 12, 1975 he married Angela, nee Fumo, and they shared 47 years raising their family together. He was a loving father to Brian (Karen) and Timothy (Kristen) Carlson and Amy (Michael) Gagliano. He was a proud and adored papa of Danielle, Samantha, Justin, Emma, Isabel, Zachary and Gabriella; dear brother of Rosemary (Michael) Jelonek and brother in-law to Connie (the late Gerardo Caputo and John (Laurie) Fumo; loving uncle, great uncle and great great uncle to many.

Chuck enthusiastically enjoyed being involved in his children's and grandchildren's athletic activities both as a coach and their biggest fan. He was a long time parishioner of St. Cyprian Parish where he faithfully served in many capacities. His light will shine on us all.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Ronald McDonald House or the Shriner's Children' Hospital would be appreciated.

Visitation Monday, November 28, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL.

Funeral services begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, at the funeral home, and then proceed to St. Cyprian Church (Mother Theodore Guerin Parish) 2601 Clinton, River Grove, for Mass at 11:30 a.m. The Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum in Des Plaines, IL.
