Obituary for Albert "Big Al" Corrado

Albert J. Corrado, Passed away on July 20, 2022 at the age of 97. His prayers were answered, as he wanted to be reunited in heaven with his beloved wife, Edith, whom he has missed for six and a half years. Best Dad and role model to Cheryl (Gregg) Smits and Mark (Carole). Proud Nanu of Kristin (Tom) Drapinski, Valerie (Bobby) Cheval and Alyssa. Loving big Nanu to Landon, Reese, Gavin and Milo. "Adopted" dad to Linda Olen. He is the son of the late Anthony and Angelica Corrado. He is predeceased by eight siblings. Cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was a friend to many. Albert served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Navy. He married his true love on Thanksgiving Day 1949. He was employed as a baby photographer and later became owner of Marshall Photographer in downtown Chicago. Big Al was a member of the Columbian Club of Chicago, the Italian American War Veterans Post 10, the Knights of Columbus, the Kiwanis Club and the Holy Name Society and the Young at Heart Club at Divine Savior Parish in Norridge. Although not a huge man in stature, he had a huge presence, a huge personality and a huge heart. Big Al always wanted to make people smile and so he had many jokes to tell. He always reminded others to help those in need and give them whatever they could. He attended yearly retreats and lived his faith fully with his kindness, generosity and compassion. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Quinn Center at St. Eulalia Church. Albert is now dancing in heaven's ballroom with his favorite partner.
