Obituary for Alan C Gordon
Alan C. Gordon, 68, passed away Wednesday January 25, 2023. He was born July 28, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois.
Alan Gordon was a graduate of Conant High School and Western Illinois University where he graduated with a degree in education. Alan was a teacher at Leyden High School as well as a wrestling and track coach. After retiring from teaching, he worked at ACE hardware.
Al Gordon was affectionately know by many as ‘Coach.’ He had a passion for wrestling and was in his element when he was out on the mat coaching. He was also a skilled handyman--he could fix and make anything. Al always enjoyed bowling in various leagues over the years. He also enjoyed watching his beloved Cubs and Bears. Al was a gentle soul who loved his family and would do anything for anyone.
Alan is survived by wife, Kali Pawlik; daughter, Carrie (Mike) Gordon Giacomazzi; stepdaughter, Kirstie (Emir) Pawlik Hadzic; grandchildren, Adam and Claire Giacomazzi and Emma Hadzic; brothers, Gary (Vicki), Dwayne (Brook), and Curtis Gordon; and many nieces and nephews. Al was preceded in death by his parents Ruth and Eugene Gordon and brother Ronald Gordon.
